Apple has contacted us about the volume of emails inquiring about iBank Mobile. They have requested that we ask all of you to not send any more emails. Apparently your voices have been heard, but Apple is saying at this point it is doing more harm than good. I do want to thank all of you for taking time out of your day to write emails about expediting the approval of our app – it’s nice to know we have people as eager and excited as we are about iBank Mobile. However, at this point it is best to not email Apple directly. We will post here and via twitter the moment we hear that our iPhone app has been approved.

Thanks,
James

  • What comes after you get blue for holding your breath? I can’t wait anymore for it, but I am holding my eager to buy a financial app as much as I can to buy this one. Thanks for the wonderful job your are doing keeping us informed.

  • “…doing more harm than good?”

So are they saying if too many people want an app, they will slow down the approval out of some kind of personal irritation?

Or are they just spending too much time reading the e-mails to hit the “approve” button?

    Either way…huh?

  • This sort of action makes me wonder what the prerequisites are for approving an application. Why would Apple give the impression that its doing more harm than good to receive inquiries? If the emails were hateful, I could understand some resistance, but it still doesn’t justify Apple’s response. It reads like they are willing to hold the application hostage.

  • They don’t have to they are Apple. I can’t believe how many apps I’ve sat and waited patiently for while the 400 some odd fart apps out there get approved in days. Come on Apple fix the process or people might seriously start considering other smart phones. j/k (-; I’d like to think I could live without my iPhone, but I know I cant!!!

  • Strange that so many other Apps get approved in days?? Could it be something to do with MobileMe sync?

My question – what happens if it is not approved? I have a part written review of iBank 3.5 and wait patiently for the iPhone app to be able to finish it.

  • “…doing more harm than good…”
So, Apple is adding insult to injury. What a bunch of §$%&s they’ve become. Success seems to corrupt as much as power.

can I write an email to Apple complaining about them complaining to IGG about people complaining to Apple…?
    [/quote]

    Please don’t 🙂

  • I will say I know that we are complaining that iBank is taking a while and I do not disagree. But the email I received mentioned complexity of programming and features. Fart apps have no complexity or features so as long as it makes a fart noise it’s a quick approval. But w/ iBank they want to make sure that it works. My experience in a previous situation w/ Cha-ching is we emailed them and it was approved and proved so fatally flawed that it was beyond unusable.

So yes I agree “COME ON APPLE!” but also lets hope that it’s well worth the overly long wait.
