If you haven’t heard from me lately, it’s not because I’ve crawled under a rock. I’ve been hard at work and iBank Mobile is progressing steadily, with no further surprises impacting the schedule. (I did take last week off to visit family in Northern CA, but that was expected.) So let me give you a quick update.

We just completed the last big feature, the one most often requested: syncing without MobileMe (or even an Internet connection). I am now focused on UI polish and bug fixing. Once we are happy with the UI, I will try to post some screen shots. Look for those in the next couple of weeks.

I still expect iBank Mobile to go beta around the end of the month. This will not be an open beta because of the way software works on the iPhone. Each beta copy needs to know about the particular phone that it is going to be installed on. Since a lot of you have expressed interest in testing, we are trying to figure out how to get as many beta copies out as possible, given the restrictions of iPhone app distribution.

A side note: we are eagerly awaiting what changes iPhone OS 3.0 will bring. Even though we’re developers, we have no idea so far how much extra work, if any, it will take to support this, or what cool features it will bring. If I see anything that looks like it will affect our schedule I will let you know ASAP. But I don’t expect that it will ship before iBank Mobile, so we’ll most likely support it later on via updates.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
Thanks,
James

  • Thanks for the update I hope to be one of the lucky ones that gets to test it out. Don’t know if it will help or not but I have an Apple dev account and I am sure others do as well. I haven’t done any iphone development so I don’t know anything about how testing works but i thought I would through that info out there. Either way I look forward to the screen shots.

  • Im would love to be one of the beta testers. My Mobileme account will expire next few days, and would love to still update by iphone without paying 100. Actually I only use mobile me because of the iBank iphone sync… Regards

  • This is great ie syncing without MobileMe acc. Having iBank mobile wld be the deal breaker for me to get an iPhone.

  • Hi, that’s great news. I can’t wait to use ibank mobile on my iphone. Do you have any idea on the price range for this app?

  • Thanks for the updates. If it does help with the beta testing I too have an iphone dev account and would love to be a tester.

  • I’m interested in testing out (or at least seeing screenshots of) iBank Mobile. The promise of a forthcoming iPhone application is the only thing keeping me from trying out other software.

  • good news! i have even been tempted along the way to jump ship (but just couldn’t do it… sorry chaching, mint, etc) in desperate attempt for this (me sync just wasn’t cutting it). however, excited this is full steam ahead! keep up the great product(s) and work!
