I exported my data from iBank Mobile in QIF file format, how do I import the data from iBank Mobile into iBank 4 on my Mac?

When exporting from iBank Mobile you will receive an email containing the QIF file exported from iBank Mobile.   Once you have received the email containing the QIF file(s) from iBank Mobile you can then use the following steps to import the data into iBank:

  • Open iBank
  • Go to File> New iBank Document
  • In the Welcome to iBank 4 window choose “Import from Other Financial Application”, then click Next.
  • Choose or drag the QIF file to the “Drag file here” box in the Choose File window, then click Next.
  • Choose the location to save the file (I recommend saving this file to the Desktop, but you can use any location you like).
  • Then complete the New Document process.

When this process completes you may have multiple iBank Document files. The main iBank Document file you have been using on your Mac for quite some time and this new iBank Document file you just created from the iBank Mobile QIF file.

You could open both iBank Document files and copy the missing transactions that were in iBank Mobile to your accounts in your Main iBank Document file. Once you have your main iBank Document file up to date with the information from iBank Mobile, I recommend Quitting iBank and dragging the iBank Document file from the iBank Mobile QIF file to the Trash.
