Direct Access issues with PNC

UPDATE 11/4/2019 — The issue is confirmed fixed!

We have discovered PNC accounts failing with Error 429 as the PNC website is throwing the following exception: “In order to link to your PNC account, we require verification of account ownership as an additional security measure. Account ownership must be verified using a one-time passcode sent directly to your mobile device.”

First, please sign on to PNC Online Banking to enroll a mobile number. After you have enrolled a mobile number, you may proceed to complete your account link request using a one-time passcode to verify account ownership.

Please login to the PNC website and update the required personal information. This request may occur after login or while navigating through the site. Once done please try the account in Banktivity again. In case you are not able to identify the required page at the PNC website then please get in touch with the “PNC Bank” customer care team and request their assistance.

The following is from the PNC website:

“At this time, some connections between your PNC accounts and third party applications may no longer work if you are using Additional Sign On Security. If you wish to continue using a third party application with your PNC Online Banking User ID and password, you can turn off Additional Sign On Security by clicking the Off radio button on this page.”
