Revised September 12, 2011
IGG Software, Inc., recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of all information provided by users of our web sites, recipients of our e-mail newsletters, and all other customers of our products and services. We created this policy out of a fundamental respect for our customers' right to privacy and to guide our relationships with our customers.
This Privacy Statement applies to the following domains: iggsoftware.com, iggsoft.com, and any sites contained therein (hereafter collectively referred to as "IGG websites").
Links to non-IGG websites. The IGG websites may provide links to third-party websites for your convenience and information. If you access those links, you will leave the IGG website. IGG Software does not control those sites or their privacy practices, which may differ from ours. We do not endorse or make any representations about third-party websites. The personal data you choose to give to unrelated third parties is not covered by this Privacy Statement. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any company before submitting your personal information.
IGG Software collects information from our website users, subscribers and other customers. In this section of our Privacy Statement, we describe the type of information we collect and how we use it to provide better services to our customers.
Personal information
Personal information is data that can be used to uniquely identify or contact a single person. We may request personal information from you in the following ways:
Product orders. For our products that require payment, we also collect credit card information (such as account name, number and expiration date), which is used for our or our agent's billing purposes only, and is not otherwise shared. Payments are processed securely via Authorize.net, which you can visit online at http://www.authorize.net. After billing is complete, the only credit card details we retain are the last four digits of your credit card number. These are stored in a secure, restricted database for the purposes of order tracking and refunds.
Customer accounts. For iBank Investor, we provide a cloud syncing service that requires you to create an IGG customer account. To establish the account, we collect your name and email address, then ask you to choose a username, password, and security questions and answers to protect your account. All of this information is transmitted securely via an encrypted SSL connection and stored on our secure servers that can only be accessed by you and our server administrators. Any time you log in to access your account, whether by our website or by one of our software products, the authentication process is conducted over an encrypted SSL connection. For more information about how data syncing is handled, please read our iBank privacy policy.
E-mail newsletter. We offer our customers the option to receive information about our company, related products, services and special deals. If customers wish to subscribe to our e-mail newsletter, we ask for personal information such as name and e-mail address. Recipients of our newsletter can be removed from the mailing list by sending a removal request to (enable javascript to view link).
User forums. We offer our customers the option to participate in an online bulletin board service intended for the exchange of knowledge, inquiries, and tips regarding our products. Participation in this service is completely voluntary and requires the establishment of a user account. Personal information such as name, email address, and a username and password are required in order to establish an account on our user forums. Any information the user makes available through the use of this service, personal or otherwise, is the sole responsibility of the user. Please exercise caution when disclosing personal information in public forums. IGG Software will not be held responsible for information disclosed through the use of our bulletin board service. User accounts on this service are managed by the user and accessible to the staff of IGG Software, and may be terminated by either party at any time.
Surveys and contests. From time to time we invite website users and other customers to provide information via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the website user or other customer therefore has a choice whether to disclose requested contact information (such as name and mailing address) and demographic information (such as zip code or job title). In addition to the other uses set forth in this policy, contact information collected in connection with surveys and contests is used to notify the winners and award prizes and to monitor or improve the use of, and satisfaction with the website and/or other IGG products or services. Personal and non-personal information submitted to us via surveys or contests may be used for marketing purposes with the explicit permission of the website customer or other user. In such cases, the use of this information will be clearly outlined prior to its submission.
Crash reports. Several of our products include the ability to send reports to IGG Software when the software crashes. These reports are strictly voluntary and are only sent when the user expressly grants permission. Each report includes a date/time stamp, the name and version of the program that crashed, the user's operating system version, and the details of the crash as recorded in the Mac OS X system log. The user may optionally choose to send his/her email address and a description of the problem along with the non-personal information. The crash reports are analyzed by our development team in order to improve the quality and stability of our products, and may be reviewed by our customer support team in order to assist customers with technical inquiries. The details of a report are not shared with anyone outside of IGG Software other than the user who submitted the report.
Non-personal information
In addition to personal information, IGG Software also collects information that is not personally identifiable in order to improve the quality of the products and services we offer. We collect non-personal information in the following ways:
Website usage statistics. As is true of most websites, we automatically collect and record basic information about visitors to IGG websites, including date/time stamps, page views and file downloads, IP addresses, browser types and languages, referring and exit pages, and operating system versions. We use this information to analyze trends, administer the sites, learn about user behavior on our sites, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may use this aggregated information in our marketing and advertising services. We utilize Google Analytics tracking code on our sites to help us analyze the data; read more about Google Analytics here: http://www.google.com/analytics.
Cookies. The IGG websites utilize cookies to improve the services we offer online. Our online store relies on cookies to provide a shopping cart interface that allows customers to choose and purchase products. Our online advertisements frequently use cookies to track how often our ads are viewed and clicked, and how many downloads and purchases result from followed ads. In both cases, no personal information is stored in the cookies or collected by IGG Software. The non-personal information we gather through the use of cookies is the same as listed above under website usage statistics. This information is aggregated and analyzed by our marketing staff so that we can better understand our market impact and improve our advertising efforts. We utilize Google AdWords for online advertising; read more about Google AdWords here: http://adwords.google.com.
Product updates. Several of our products include the ability to automatically check for updates. When this feature is enabled, the product will communicate with our website each time it is launched to obtain the version number of the most recent software release and compare it against its own version number. When a newer version is found, the software will alert the user that an update is available for download from our website. No information is sent to IGG Software during this process, although the communication with our website is logged like any other visit to our site. Automatic update notifications can be disabled in the preferences window for each of our products.
Children's privacy
IGG Software is committed to protecting the privacy needs of children and we encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their children's online activities and interests. IGG Software does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 and we do not target our websites to children under 13.
IGG Software uses your personal information to provide you with services and to help us better understand your needs and interests. Specifically, we use your information to help you complete a product order or refund, to communicate with you, to provide service and support, to update you on services and benefits, and to send promotional offers. Credit card information is used only for payment processing. It is not used for any other purpose by our financial services providers or IGG Software and is not kept longer than necessary for providing the services.
IGG Software does not share, distribute, or sell your personal information to any third parties, except for billing purposes (see "Product orders" above). We consider it our responsibility to protect our customers' privacy.
If information which you have submitted to us changes, or if you no longer desire our product(s)/service(s), please contact customer support by sending an email to (enable javascript to view link).
We take reasonable precautions to protect information about our customers while it is stored on our servers and in transit to our service providers. Personal information, when requested via our website, is transmitted to us securely via an encrypted Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection. In order to submit this information, the customer must use a web browser that supports SSL (such as Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, or Internet Explorer).
Access to all of our customers' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, a billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. When accessed internally, the information is transmitted securely via SSL. Finally, the servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
